
Self-Sabotage is Universal
We are all enemies to ourselves at times. Whether we subconsciously sabotage ourselves by procrastinating on our most important tasks; cut ourselves with blades or resist going to bed at a reasonable enough hour to excel the next day. Many of us know someone who thinks about the worst thing they could possibly say, focuses on that and ends up blurting it out!
By not resisting our most embarrassing habits, we cause ourselves shame and self-blame. We might think “I just couldn’t help myself” after eating too much ice-cream. Killers have been known to say things like “X was killed when they were sleeping beside me.”
People identify with their conscious mind, with the ego, which thinks it is the Self. However we are not one thing, we are not an I so much as a we. We are a community of particles, such as cells, bacteria, bones and Being. The ego is not so much concerned with being as being thought of. The conscious mind is not so much concerned with being as doing. Being is essential and promotes well-being. This is what Coaching dot Care is all about; helping you to be peaceably. We’re about helping all parts of you to work together, so that you can achieve what you WANT to achieve as well as accepting and understanding when you achieve the opposite, and changing that comfortably and wisely with pre-determined strategies.

The human brain has historical origins when survival strategies meant evading predators. Obsessing about the bad stuff in our lives, saved our lives, but nowadays it can hold us back from truly living life. For an extreme Youtuber, a negative review may serve almost as well as a good one, but still we are more naturally inclined to focus on one bad review than any of the one hundred positive reviews. We can overcome these outdated primal pathways using acceptance and redecision. Thriving in our current world, means filtering out irrational fears and excess information.
