What is Agoraphobia?
Agoraphobia is an avoidance-based condition resulting in avoiding entering situations, places or circumstances which cause intense fear, shame or panic. These are usually open spaces and typically an agoraphobic person is afraid to go out of their own home.
How we can help you?
We can help you by putting you in contact with a coach who has themselves recovered from being afraid to go out. We will discuss how shame develops and slowly and comfortably unwind the painful self perception.
A cluster of conditions
Many people with agoraphobia also have social anxiety or other anxiety conditions and may self-harm. Advocating a subtle form of self-nurturing, we help you to see how avoidance is usually unhelpful. Coaching offers you the opportunity to to make gentle changes and then bring them into your day-to-day life, before venturing outwards in a controlled and comfortable way.
